I love cycling! And I did a lot of it last year when I visited The Netherlands! Beautiful! The fall is a great time of year to dust off your bike and hit the road. It’s not only great for the body, but it’s a great way to escape. Leave the computer, cell phone and other digital distractions behind and hit the open road!

With the celebrations for Canada Day upon us, I thought it was a good time to revisit the topic of Flag Etiquette.
The National Flag of Canada is a symbol of honour and pride for all Canadians and as such should be displayed in a manner befitting this important national symbol. When flown in Canada, the National Flag of Canada takes precedence of all other national flags, with the exception of the personal standards of members of the Royal Family and of Her Majesty’s eleven representatives in Canada.

I’m sure you’ve had this happen to you: You’re with friends, enjoying an evening together, and the next morning you log onto Facebook and there you are. And it’s not that you mind having your photo taken, but you weren’t prepared. The lighting was too dim. You weren’t smiling. And the angle the photo was taken at gives you an odd distorted look or makes you look 10 pounds heavier than you are…(yes, we’ve all had those photos taken).

I was recently asked to contribute to a CTV report on tipping etiquette. One of the questions that came up was around self-service restaurants or coffee shops—such as Starbucks Tim Hortons—and whether to tip or not to tip. In my opinion, if you have to wait in line to place an order, vs. sitting down at a restaurant and being served, there should not be an expectation to pay the same gratuity. It’s an entirely different business model.
